How does my media product represent particular social groups?

How does my media product represent particular social groups?

· I aimed to attract different youth cultures by using the stereotypical black artsists in the contents page as they would fit in suitably with the convention of the Hip Hop/ R&B genre.

· They are also young, which appeals to the audience well because the genre targets the younger, teenage fans and therefore identifies themselves with the artists to a greater degree. They are wearing typical attire that addresses the audience, yet they have also been dressed wearing expensive jewellery with the chains, earrings, bracelots etc which connotes class and wealth. Therefore this subverts the typical ‘thug’ persona to artists, and makes them appear more sophistated and chic which would convey the brand identity of R&B Exclusive well

My music magazine represents teenagers. In addition, young teenagers in general are being portrayed as ambitious and shown to have talent, and not in a stereotypical negative way. This can be found in the interview. For my contents page, I have shown the readers the information that you would usually see on a contents page; the page numbers and what is going to be on the magazine. I aimed to use attractive models throughout so the audience will enjoy the magazine.
